After years of renovating our house, I finally reached the part I’d been looking forward to—decorating the kids’ rooms. My daughter had her heart set on unicorns, and even though I’d never wallpapered a wall in my life, I wanted to learn. I wanted this stage of the renovation to feel personal, and I loved the idea of telling her, “I did this for you.”
More than anything, I wanted her to see that she can learn new skills, try new things, and create something beautiful with her own hands—because she watched me do the same.

The room started out plain and simple. It didn’t reflect who my daughter was becoming—her colours, her imagination, her love of all things magical. I wanted to give her a room that felt like a sanctuary, a space that was truly hers.

Her reaction made every moment worth it. She absolutely adores her new room, and the joy on her face is something I’ll never forget. I learned a lot, laughed a lot, and now feel a little spark of pride every time I step inside.
With a bit of help, and a willingness to try something new, I created a space for her that feels magical—and made a memory for both of us along the way.

Moving into a new house with my girls and my partner felt like the start of a whole new chapter. After such a long journey to get here, we wanted the space to feel like us—personal, welcoming, and full of character.
We didn’t have a huge budget, but we wanted the house to look and feel fabulous. That’s where Heather stepped in. She has a gift for spotting simple, clever upgrades that make a big impact. Her idea to wallpaper the back of this cabinet quickly became one of my favourite touches in our home. It’s a small detail that now feels central to our space.

The cabinet itself was a perfectly fine piece of Ikea furniture—practical, well-sized, and doing its job. But our treasured pieces felt lost inside it, blending into the background rather than standing out the way we hoped.

Adding wallpaper to the back panel turned out to be such an easy change—but the best ideas often are. The whole unit suddenly came to life. It grounded the room, elevated our everyday objects, and sparked so many lovely comments from friends and family.
We couldn’t be happier with it. This small transformation helped the house start feeling like a home—one shaped with intention, creativity, and heart.

After my wife passed away, and I had cleared and decluttered the house. I knew it was time to refresh some of the rooms in the house to better reflect my own minimalist style. I wasn’t sure where to begin with layout, soft furnishings or how to tie everything together. Heather helped me create a look that blended the pieces I already had with the items that held sentimental value, making the process feel easy and personal.

I wanted to keep certain bits of furniture and a couple of sentimental items but achieve a cosy contemporary look that was more attuned to my style and personality.

The room now feels cosy and truly mine. Heather recommended the trades for all the jobs I didn’t want to tackle, but every decision still felt like my own and it was lovely to do it with someone. It’s now a space I can relax in.

After moving into our new house, I was determined to create a bedroom that truly felt like me—a space that whispered “Elle” the moment you walked in. As a mum who pours so much into everyone else, I longed for a room that was entirely my own.
Heather and I chatted through ideas, and she immediately understood the atmosphere I wanted. She found a wallpaper I absolutely adored and gently encouraged me to be bold—to wallpaper all the walls. We took the leap, and I can’t begin to explain how much I love my bedroom now.

The room started off completely plain. The curtains felt tired, the walls lacked personality, and aside from the lovely view out the window, there wasn’t much that made me feel at home. It simply didn’t reflect the person I am or the peace I wanted to feel.

Now, I wake up and smile every single morning. The room feels like an extension of the garden I love, with colours that reflect my spring-like personality. It brings me a joyful sense of calm just being in it.
It’s more than a bedroom—it’s the sanctuary I’d always wished for.

Full disclosure—this is my (Heather’s) own home. I spotted this William Morris wallpaper and knew I had to find a place for it! I chose to cover two walls, which only required a single roll, and the effect was immediate. The remaining wall and ceiling stay a soft pink, perfectly balancing the intricate pattern and adding a subtle contrast that makes the room feel both vibrant and serene.

The bathroom was painted in Little Greene’s Julie’s Dream. I loved the colour—it’s soft and calming—but the space still felt a little plain. It needed a touch of drama, a detail to make it feel uniquely alive.

The wallpaper transforms the room completely. The sun glinting off the gold highlights in the pattern is simply magical. Every time I step inside, I’m reminded of the power of a small change to create a big impact. I never tire of this room—it’s now a joyful, bold, and beautiful retreat.
